Other Teachers Need You!
Many teachers write worksheets, booklets and study
guides to help their students do well.
Youy can make money by selling resources you have already written to
other teachers and schools.
Your resources are have been the subject of gradual improvement over
many years and are high quality.
Finding a Publisher
Schools are bombarded with literature from
educational publishers. Pick up a leaflet and ring their
offices.
Many publishers have a set format and will ask you to rewrite your work
to fit into their format.
Classroom Resources are very flexible and accept resources from
teachers without imposing a fixed and inflexible format on their
authors. Check out their website, classroomresources.com
for details. They usually pay 10% of sales to their authors.
Once your resources are selling Classroom Resources may ask you to
write resources to their requirements, giving you the same 10% of sales.

Publishing Yourself
There is an alternative way to make money from your
resources;
you can print them, market them and sell them yourself. This does take
more effort than using a publisher, but the rewards are potentially
much greater. Check out our Self
Publishing pages for full details
Self Publishing Requirements
- Time
- Motivation
- Computer
- Work space
- High quality laser printer
- Colour printer
- Binding machine
- Laminating machine
- Address lists
- Stamps
- Basic accounting knowledge
You will probably have a computer, though your
printer may need upgrading.
Your major costs are in postage and marketing materials. The resources
themselves cost onl;y a few pounds to produce. Given that schools pay
£30 upwards for good quality resources, you can see the potential
for making a few thousand pounds a year, provided you get the marketing
right.
